The Garden of Gethsemene
Not my will, but thine, be done.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ began to take upon Himself the sorrow, pain, and sins of the world. He went there willingly. Though the burden was beyond anything we can fully understand, He did not turn away. As He prayed to the Father, His soul was “exceeding sorrowful,” yet He still chose to drink the bitter cup and fulfill His divine mission (Matthew 26:38–39). In that sacred place, the Savior showed perfect love, perfect obedience, and perfect mercy.
Gethsemane reminds us that Jesus Christ truly understands us. He knows grief, loneliness, fear, and suffering—not from a distance, but because He felt it Himself. When we feel overwhelmed, we can turn to Him with trust. He is not a stranger to pain. He is the One who entered into it so He could lift and strengthen us. Because of Him, we do not walk through our hardest moments alone.
As you continue this Easter journey, pause and remember that the Savior willingly entered the garden for you. He knows your heart, your struggles, and your need for hope. Just as finding this geocache may have taken some searching, peace in Christ often comes as we seek Him intentionally. In quiet moments of prayer and faith, we can find comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ has already walked the path before us.
